1940s Club

The mission of this group is to bring together the residents of Riderwood Village who grew up in the 1940s and 1950s and who share the cultural experiences common to their cohort, such as popular music of the 1960s and civil rights. We maintain an online discussion forum, rwv1940s, for any and all general topics of interest to our members, meet twice a month for lunch, and sponsor other activities as the members decide. If you were born around 1940 or later, you are eligible to join immediately and to remain a member for as long as you like.

You can become a member of the 1940s Club by coming to one of our regular luncheons or by becoming a member of the online discussion forum.

The luncheons are held at the Overlook restaurant, at 11:30 on the first Saturday of the month and at 12:00 noon on the third Wednesday of the month. We meet in the lobby area outside the front desk.

Membership in the online discussion forum, rwv1940s, is strictly opt-in. No one can register you for receipt of rwv1940s messages without your permission, and you may withdraw or opt-out from rwv1940s membership at any time.  To join the forum, send a message including your name and apartment number to rwv1940s-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. Your membership request must be approved, which typically takes less than 24 hours.

Alternatively, if you are already a member of Yahoo!, you can navigate to www.groups.yahoo.com, search for “rwv1940s,” and join the group in that way.

Once confirmed as a member, you can send a message to all rwv19490s members by sending an email from your email account to rwv1940s@yahoogroups.com.
