Computer Club

Computer Club Meetings: The Computer Club meets monthly on the third Monday of the month at 11:00 am.  All residents are welcome.  The next Computer Club Meeting will be held on Monday, November 18 at 11:00 am at Maryland Hall in Montgomery Station (note this is a temporary location for the November meeting only).  This month our meeting will be a presentation by Rob Pegoraro.  Rob was a former staff writer on technology for the Washington Post and is now a free lance journalist writing on technology for USA Today, Discovery News, PCMag, Boing Boing, Ars Technica & others.  His topic will beYou’re not crazy to feel some insecurity about your security online.  He will address security issues in the new age of the 5G Internet and how  and if we can protect ourselves in this world of information.

Computer Round table: Our Round table meetings are held monthly on the 2nd Wednesday of the month in the Village Square Music Room at 1:00 pm.  This is a place where you can bring your computer questions and ask the experts for answers.  The group will answer questions on desktop, laptops, tablets, etc. At 2:00 pm individual questions on Android phones and tablets will be answered.   This meeting always evokes a large discussion with many members dropping by for answers to problems that had been vexing them. The next Round table meeting will be Wednesday, November 13 at 1 pm in the Village Square Music Room; at 2:00 pm Android tablet and phone questions will be answered.

New Apple OS Operating System and Apple Desktops & Laptops – Although there is no longer an active Apple Club, there are still questions to be answered about Apple computers and the OS Operating System, so the last Tuesday tutoring session of each month that is normally devoted to iPhones and iPads and iOS will be focused on Apple computers and the OS Operating system.  This session is held from 1-2 pm on the last Tuesday of the month in the Town Center Classroom.  The next Apple Computer & OS session will be held on Tuesday, November 26 at 1:00 pm in the Town Center Classroom.
