Computer Club

Computer Club Meetings: The Computer Club resumes its meetings monthly on the third Monday of the month at 11:00 am.  All residents are welcome.  The next Computer Club Meeting will be held on Monday, April 19 at 11:00 am at Encore Theater, Lakeside Commons.  The topic will be Zoom–It’s Not Just for COVID Times.

This will be a group discussion on how we continue to make use of the communications technology like Zoom even though we can meet again in person.  What are your plans or suggestions now that your trips, classes, meetings and other activities are resuming in person.  Come bring your ideas on how you will continue using this technology.

We will also have a Zoom visit by Prof. Galina Madjaroff, University of Maryland about a new software project they are testing and would like to have Riderwood Residents participate in this testing.

Computer Round table: Our Round table meetings are held monthly on the 2nd Wednesday of the month in the Village Square Music Room at 1:00 pm.  This is a place where you can bring your computer questions and ask the experts for answers.  The group will answer questions on desktop, laptops, tablets, etc. At 2:00 pm individual questions on Android phones and tablets will be answered.   This meeting always evokes a large discussion with many members dropping by for answers to problems that had been vexing them. The next Round table meeting will be Wednesday, May 12 at 1 pm in the Village Square Music Room; at 2:00 pm Android tablet and phone questions will be answered.

New Apple OS Operating System and Apple Desktops & Laptops – Although there is no longer an active Apple Club, there are still questions to be answered about Apple computers and the OS Operating System, so the last Tuesday tutoring session of each month that is normally devoted to iPhones and iPads and iOS will be focused on Apple computers and the OS Operating system.  This session is held from 1-2 pm on the last Tuesday of the month in the Town Center Classroom.  The iPhone/iPad tutoring sessions are held weekly on Tuesday in Town Center Classroom at 1:00 pm.  In addition there is an iPhone/iPad tutoring session via Zoom at 3:00 pm each Tuesday.  See Myerickson Activities for the invitation number for Zoom.
