Computer Club

Computer Club Meetings: The Computer Club meets monthly on the third Monday of the month at 11:00 am.  All residents are welcome.  The next Computer Club Meeting will be held on Monday, October 21 at 11:00 am at the Encore Theater in Lakeside Commons.  This month our meeting will be a presentation by Juliana Dina and Febe Huezo of Montgomery County Public Library (MCPL).   It will be on the subject of the availability of all kinds of materials accessible online from the MCPL–books, magazines, entertainment, courses such as the Great Courses (used by many of our PGCC SAGE classes), language tools and much more.  It is veritable treasure chest — and all for free with your library card.  If you need a library card and don’t have one, bring a picture ID with your current address and the librarians will issue you a card at the end of the meeting so you too can be eligible for all of these wonderful tools at your fingertips.

Computer Round table: Our Round table meetings are held monthly on the 2nd Wednesday of the month in the Village Square Music Room at 1:00 pm.  This is a place where you can bring your computer questions and ask the experts for answers.  The group will answer questions on desktop, laptops, tablets, etc. At 2:00 pm individual questions on Android phones and tablets will be answered.   This meeting always evokes a large discussion with many members dropping by for answers to problems that had been vexing them. The next Round table meeting will be Wednesday, October 9 at 1 pm in the Village Square Music Room; at 2:00 pm Android tablet and phone questions will be answered.

New Apple OS Operating System and Apple Desktops & Laptops – Although there is no longer an active Apple Club, there are still questions to be answered about Apple computers and the OS Operating System, so the last Tuesday tutoring session of each month that is normally devoted to iPhones and iPads and iOS will be focused on Apple computers and the OS Operating system.  This session is held from 1-2 pm on the last Tuesday of the month in the Town Center Classroom.  The next Apple Computer & OS session will be held on Tuesday, October 29 at 1:00 pm in the Town Center Classroom.
